You know Sonic? The bonus levels from Sonic in particular, where he rolled into a ball to collect coins in a spining maze. Much the same thing here, in a more complex fashion. You are in control of the screen rotation with the directional buttons while still being able to jump with the fire button. In fact, it's very comparable to the bonus levels from Sonic 4 (if I may blaspheme talking about a 2010 game). Let's say that the first of its kind is an arcade game published by Taito (Cameltry, 1989) which was later ported on Supernes in 1993 and titled On The Ball.
The concept seems a bit too simple and repetitive to keep us enthralled for a long time, and imprecise controls do not help in the matter. However, we notice the efforts made to renew interest throughout the hundred of stages in the game, with a multitude of bonuses, gravity reversing stuff, traps, enemies, etc. In addition, from level 51, our friend Bob meet with his body (with whom he was separated, I refer you to the intro scene) which means a second ball to lead to the exit. Finally, my delicate nerves welcome the variety of game tunes, the presence of passwords and infinite continues. Thank you for them!
After the funny intro, one would have expected a final scene of the same wood. Unfortunately, this is yet another still image that rewards the persevering player. To save your time I will post it right away: here.
