A notorious platformer but a bit overrated in my opinion.
Chuck Rock, the portly caveman comes to the rescue of his girlfriend, taken hostage by his infamous rival, Gary Gritter. He's going to dispose of various prehistoric creatures along the way with his feet and his belly, or by throwing rocks at their face.

The "cartoon" characters and scenery have a certain charm, but unfortunately the animation is poor. Likewise, the soundtrack is minimalist. You can press space to replace music with sound effects, whose only interest is the "Hunga Bounga" roared by the hero at the beginning of each stage (impossible to choose both of them).

The game itself is rather plain: we mostly walk straight forward smashing critters coming and going from left to right. It gets dull and repetitive quickly. Moreover, there are no save points and you are forced to restart the whole level everytime you lose a life.

The animated intro is funny. We would have liked the same kind of stuff in the end rather than a still picture. Oh, well. . . .
