A classic real time role-playing game. Slain bandits, orcs, skeletons, loot their corpses in search of new items (keys, weapons, gold coins . . .), complete dangerous (and unusual) quests such as freeing a princess, exploring a dragon's lair, killing a wicked sorcerer. . . .
Holm (the name of the realm) is a huge place, stretching over more than 17,000 screens (on the scale it should represent roughly 2 square kilometers, but believe me without a map you will go nowhere).
All in all this is a good game even if the difficulty is poorly balanced: the hero gets killed in one blow at the beginning and then after a few levels, becomes virtually invulnerable (except against archers' arrows, strangely).
Oh and regarding sound, see Diablo.
