Years ago, when you were but a small child, sorcerers had you kidnapped and you were placed in a temple of evil. With their magic and potions, they transformed you into a monster warrior dedicated to serve Maletoth, the Beast Lord.
On reaching adulthood, and after a human sacrifice, you recognize the face of your father on the altar. Your memories resurface instantly, and you swear to take your revenge and kill your former masters to the last one. . . .
Shadow of the Beast is a beat-them-all type of game with a murky atmosphere. Graphics are amazing for its time and the introduction tune is without a doubt one of the most beautiful ever heard on the Amiga. But after the glorious intro, the game quickly gets limited to punching around everything that moves. The gameplay is overly simplistic and the difficulty level will repel even the bravest ones. . . .
