TASAR (for "Terran Armed Search And Rescue", also known as Space Ranger) is one of my first games. It plays like Defender, an horizontal side-scrolling "shoot'em up", provided with a radar to see what's happening around in real time.
The main difference here is that the evil aliens seek wild animals instead of humans. Bastards!
You can kill the critters if you like, though it does not grant any point. If you're an animal friend however, you can capture them by throwing traps (space key). Always keep an eye on the aliens or you'll get shot.

Graphically poor and very difficult, this game still has a special ambiance. Sometimes, I stay five minutes on the presentation screen to watch this bizarre world teeming with strange creatures. . . .
