TecnoballZ is the improved version of Tecnoball, released the same year and developed by the same company. It's a pretty nice Breakout clone, which design reminds me of Xenon 2. After each stage, you will have access to a shop where you can buy power-ups (extra rackets, guns, glue, etc.). Occasionally, you'll even face a "shoot'em up" boss!
The difficulty is not very high by default (easy mode) but it can be set in the option panel. The game is flanked by solid sound effects and original features (simultaneous two-player mode, "ball control", up to four rackets . . .) which make it addictive and most importantly, accessible.
Here, the review would have remained on a positive note if I had not found myself stuck in a stage where pieces of the ceiling disappear after the ball passes over it . . .
To save yourself the trouble, always buy the extra racket on top of the screen and save your game before starting a level.
