Dungeon Master is the first RPG offering fights in real time. Add to that a first person view, 4 playable characters, water and food taken into account, a tidy and intuitive interface, well thought puzzles and of course many items, weapons and magic to find in a gigantic maze of corridors and doors. . . .
It's a new genre by itself, with a level of realism never achieved before. Other games will follow, using the same concept: Bloodwych, Eye of the Beholder, Black Crypt and so on. . . .
In another genre (turn by turn fights), you will also find The Bard's Tale.
