In the twenty-first century, humans have colonized the solar system. They built cities within giant domes supplied with oxygen by artificial jungles. You just crashed in one of them! Laser impacts on your antigravity bike leave little doubt about the cause of the accident. Someone just tried to kill you and you do not know why! Besides, you do not know who you are either; your memory has been erased.

Worthy successor of Another World, Flashback is a futuristic platformer provided with a scenario before which Ridley Scott would turn green with envy.
The gameplay reminds Prince of Persia: I run, I jump, I miss, I cling to a ledge in extremis, I pull on my little arms to climb the platform . . .
The graphics are nicely polished, the adventure is punctuated with beautiful cutscenes, but the main asset of the game is its character animation.

Flashback's success will inspire other titles such as Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus and Heart of Darkness (PC and Playstation). Then comes the 3D and an unworthy sequel to Flashback : Fade to Black (PSX), to forget.
