Mega Man

Mega Man, the famous blue robot, appeared for the first time on Nes in 1987 in a self-titled platformer game released by Capcom.

The mission is simple but effective: jump, climb ladders and shoot to make your way into a world populated by machines, to the secret room defended by one of the 6 "master robots". You must then defeat them in single combat to gain his weapon.

There are 6 levels in Mega Man (8 in the other episodes) all accessible from the beginning and as many robot masters, each one sensitive to a different weapon. Therefore, the subtlety is to explore the levels in a specific order to beat them without difficulty.

When all of Wily's generals are destroyed (and their weapons stolen), you enter the final phase: pursue the mad scientist into his secret base. It is a huge complex where you encounter all the enemies of the game, bosses included. In the end, the last duel will oppose Mega Man to Wily, and forever, the latter will manage to escape, paving the way for yet another sequel. . . .

This innovative game met such a huge success that many sequels were released on almost all platforms. Now, since the original concept is running out of steam, the series' diversifying into several "ramifications" described below.
