6 months after the events of Mega Man 4, while he's been gone for a walk with Roll, Rock was suddenly attacked (and defeated!) by an alien robot known as Terra, leader of the stardroids . . . Fortunately, good Dr. Light repaired Mega Man and gave him a new weapon more effective than his old Mega-Buster: the Mega-Arm, and a new four-legged companion: the robotic cat Tango.

In this episode made exclusively for Gameboy, Mega Man must defeat 8 master robots named after planets, plus Terra, Enker, Quint, Punk, Ballade and of course Wily, who has been stupid enough to awaken the powerful Sunstar (this robot does not like to receive orders, he will notice soon enough). But, as always, Mega Man is keeping watch. So the world will be saved, the baddies defeated and Wily . . . escaped!
