Mega Man Legends

In an inhospitable world almost completely covered by oceans, people have learned to live on the few scraps of emerged land. They built cities over the ruins of an ancient civilization. It is said that some of them still contain powerful artifacts, evidence of a forgotten technology, guarded by fearsome machines. . . .

Yet, a handful of adventurers called "diggers" are willing to brave the dangers and superstitions that haunt these ruins. Foraging in search of quantum refractors they can sell to the highest bidder, or with which they feed their flying machines, they keep hope of finding one day the "mother lode", a legendary relic, the inexhaustible source of energy.

A few characters:

Mega Man Volnutt (Rock Volnutt)

The hero of this game. He was found when he was a baby with a small monkey named Data, in the midst of a ruin, by the famous archaeologist Barrel Casket. He adopted him and raised him along with his granddaughter Roll. Since then, Mega Man has become a digger and he accompanies the Casket in their excavations.

Roll Caskett

Barrel Casket's granddaughter and Mega Man's adopted sister. She is the team mechanic and navigator.

Teisel Bonne

Wacky head of a pirate family. He is desperate to become rich.

Tron Bonne

Teisel' sister and great rival of Mega Man and Roll. She is the one who created the servbots (Kobun), those little yellow robots that look like Legos.

Mega Man Legends is a 3D adventure game released in 1997. The original version is called Rockman DASH (acronym of "Digout's Adventure Story in Halcyon Days"). Despite the relative quality of the scenario and charismatic characters, this series has never been popular.
There was only one sequel (yet) but we can meet Tron Bonne in: The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (PlayStation) and in a more anecdotal way in the fighting games Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (arcade and 128 bits console) and Namco x Capcom (PlayStation 2) in which Mega Man and Roll are also present.
