You managed to take your revenge on the mages who subjugated you and who killed your father. Well, not completly, since your baby sister has just been abducted too. You must save her before she takes your place in the service of the Beast Lord. . . .

The sequel to Shadow of the Beast remains an artistic showcase. The intro is impressive, the scenery is very beautiful, the music carries you . . . all that is very nice but the game itself proves unplayable and frustrating. With only one life, it is far too difficult. Even with a trainer (infinite energy), you have good chances to get stuck with no hope to reach the end. Add to that endless loading times.
Let's mention an effort to bring some depth to the previous game though, with the presence of dialogues and the use of items to solve puzzles.

A quick word on the character's appearance. You play the same creature as in the previous episode: Aarbron, but he's partially recovered his human form after having been released from the clutches of the mages. At the same time, he lost his powers and is forced to fight with a weapon. In Shadow of the Beast III, he will be definitely cured from his curse (as evidenced by the wearing of trousers and hat, the lad isn't a savage no more!).
