The sequel to Stardust keeps exactly the same recipe: a top-down view shooter with "relative" controls (one button to move forward and two buttons to turn left or right). It's still very difficult, very repetitive and graphically very impressive.
This game can be considered a technological showcase for the Amiga, especially since it is one of the computer's last titles.
Super Stardust was also released on CD32 console, it's easier to handle with a paddle (especially to change weapon) and we no longer need to juggle with 5 disks.
In 2007, a "modernized" version, Super Stardust HD, was released on Playstation 3, followed in 2008 with a PSP adaptation: Super Stardust Portable.
