I’m hopeless at tennis games, but this one felt relatively easy to pick up. It’s like playing on “autopilot”—it’s tricky to aim the ball where you want, and even harder to deliberately hit it out of bounds. That said, this computer-assisted gameplay makes it far easier to land shots and return the ball. Perfect for a clueless player like me, who can finally enjoy rallies lasting more than a few seconds. Specialists, however, probably preferred Great Courts and its sequel, which offered far less hand-holding.
One standout feature here is the dynamic camera work, which zooms in on the player, especially when rushing the net for a smash.

Advantage Tennis lets you compete in major international tournaments, aiming to pocket prize money and climb the rankings. Each player comes with their own style, special moves, and customisable stats. While the graphics are rudimentary, the animations are impressively fluid and realistic. The same can’t quite be said for the ball trajectories, which often feel like they’re magnetised to the rackets.
