I love this kind of thing! The platformer in its purest form, full of colours and beeps. Its concept is simple to understand, but more technical than it seems!

You control Bomb Jack, a superhero protecting Earth from aliens. You can jump over clouds and glide. Your mission: disarm all the bombs on a level without getting hit by enemies (preferably in a specific order to rack up the most points).

It was released in arcades in 1984. Its sequel, Mighty Bomb Jack, came out in 1986 (1990 on the Amiga). I recommend, as always, the original version, on the MAME emulator, even more vibrant and beepy… Wow! (And, of course, much smoother animation.)

Note that a second Amiga adaptation came out in… 2018! Bomb Jack Beer Edition.
