Chaos Strikes Back is the expansion for Dungeon Master. No notable changes, either in presentation or content, except for a nice animated introduction and a small feature allowing you to customize your champions’ mini-portraits (pixel by pixel). Be warned, the default characters are rather weak compared to the challenge ahead. That’s why it’s recommended to finish Dungeon Master first and then import your own “veteran” characters.
I find the mazes more complex (it’s more important than ever to draw maps on paper) and at the same time more “dense”: practically every corridor you walk down holds a trap or secret passage. Some treasures are even placed randomly.
