An adorable fighting game starring elves who smack each other around while squeaking.
The six protagonists face off through a pseudo “board game” mechanic, where you move across a map and select a region to “conquer”. This boils down to a glorified game of tic-tac-toe: win six duels in six adjacent, aligned areas to claim victory.
During combat, you can grab coins to hire a stronger, more capable champion for your next match (since the characters are deliberately unbalanced, at least in single-player mode).
It’s all just window dressing—refreshing, admittedly—that fails to hide the game’s shortcomings for long: too few moves and sluggish controls make boredom set in far too quickly.
Still, hats off to the artist for the gorgeous, animated backdrops (complete with parallax scrolling).
