Get your aspirin tubes ready and turn off your speakers: Dizzy is back!
In this sequel to Treasure Island Dizzy, our egg-shaped “friend” is up against a demonic king, a crocodile, dragons, a troll, and a whole bunch of flaming torches, all teaming up to prevent him from rescuing his chick-egg: Daisy, kidnapped because-she’s-a-good-gal and we won’t dwell on the plot any further.
We also meet the rest of the egghead community (yolkfolk): Denzil, Dylan, Dozy, and Grand Dizzy, who will all politely decline when you come asking for help! You’d think your girlfriend wasn’t the most popular in town…
Anyway, the good news is that the developers, in their boundless generosity, have granted you three lives, making the game just a tiny bit less difficult than its predecessor. But don’t be fooled; in three hours, you’ll be found banging your head with a hammer amid the wreckage of your keyboard…
In the end, the concept hasn’t changed one bit: you collect items to use in the right places to unlock the path to the next puzzle (while picking which ones to lug around in your two-slot inventory). There are, of course, still coins to collect, 30 in total (thankfully, a map is provided at the end!).
A quick word on the inventory, since they bothered to improve it. It now lets you choose which item to drop when it’s full, and somewhere there’s a bag to be found that increases your carrying capacity from two to four.
To wrap it up, if you like cheesy, frustrating games filled with twisted puzzles, you’ve got to admit that, in this genre, this one’s top-tier…
