An elf, a wizard, a barbarian, and a Valkyrie are trapped in a gigantic top-down labyrinth crammed with traps and monsters … oh, and treasures too.

Once again, there’s no point in replaying it on an Amiga emulator. Stick to the arcade version, if only to enjoy the commentary from the voice-over. Some of the lines have become iconic (“Remember! Don’t shoot food!”).

By the way, I recently cleared up that whole “partie d’cartes” mystery—it was actually “reflective shot”. Quite proud of my discovery, which only took twenty years!

I still wonder if this game even has an end? Apparently, it boasts 999 levels … mind-numbingly repetitive after the tenth.

The intro music vaguely resembles Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. If anyone knows the exact source, I’d love to hear about it.

For genealogy enthusiasts, you might be surprised to learn its inspiration wasn’t an arcade game: Dandy (Atari 8-bit, 1983).
