Three karatekas joyfully beat the daylights out of each other. You control one, the computer and maybe a second accomplice control the other two – everyone for themselves!
Hit your opponents to score points. At six points, you move on to the next round. The moves are numerous and easy to pull off, and there are mini-games sprinkled throughout the combat phases (bouncing balls to hit back with a shield or bombs to kick away).
The ease of play and the humorous atmosphere make this title a classic, a little repetitive on your own but a real laugh when played with others.
I would’ve liked to see more backgrounds and other game modes, but hey…
The original, International Karate, was released in 1986 on Commodore 64 and Atari (among others).
