“Can I bite?”
Qix is a well-known arcade game (1981, Taito), where you draw a line (the Stix) to “claim” areas of the screen. The level is won when you’ve filled 75% of the play area, and you lose a life if you’re touched by the virus wriggling in the middle (the Qix) or by the sparks running along the frame.
Personally, I discovered the concept alongside the Amiga remake, Power Styx, which features a more polished presentation and is enhanced by various bonuses. This, plus the nostalgia factor, means I struggle to linger on the original.
