Did you love King Kong and Godzilla? Ever dreamed of doing the same?
That’s exactly what this adaptation of a 1986 arcade classic offers.
You play as a giant monster, and the city is yours to destroy! Climb buildings, munch on people, and cause as much havoc as possible before inevitably being overwhelmed and taken down by the military…
It’s fun for about five minutes. After that, the lack of variety starts to show.
In WinUAE, make sure not to map the arrow keys—they’re used to navigate the menu. Press “Esc” to start the game.
Several sequels followed, introducing new characters, cartoonish animations, and updated visuals:
- Rampage: World Tour (arcade, 1997)
- Rampage: Universal Tour (PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Color, 1999)
- Rampage Through Time (PlayStation, 2000)
- Rampage: Puzzle Attack (Game Boy Advance, 2001)
- Rampage: Total Destruction (GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Wii, 2006).
More recently, in the same vein, there’s GigaBash and Terror of Hemasaurus (2022).
