Simon is an apprentice magician setting off in search of his mentor, Calypso, who’s been kidnapped by the by the evil sorcerer named Sordid…
This adventure game is a humorous point and click, fairly classic, but excellently done, both visually and musically.
Like many adventure games, and particularly this one, the early stages are a blast, packed with locations to explore, quirky characters to meet, and objects to collect. But then, just when you think you’ve seen it all, you’ll find yourself stuck for hours because you missed an item just a few pixels in size, blending into the background and essential for solving a puzzle. Very frustrating, especially since it’s a situation you keep encountering, to the point where you end up spending ten minutes scanning every screen with the mouse, hunting for the tiniest detail…
The screenshots come from the CD32 version (I wasn’t in the mood to deal with nine floppy disks). All the dialogues are voiced in English. To get the game in French, the easiest solution would be to get the PC version (I’m not sure how to install it). Another option: install the game on an Amiga hard drive using WHDLoad.
