This game draws inspiration from an arcade hit, Solomon’s Key (Tecmo, 1986), in which a wizard would make bricks appear and disappear to reach different parts of the screen, collect bonuses and solve puzzles (there’s a biblical reference underneath, for those interested).
In Spherical, the puzzle no longer consists of collecting the key to open the door leading to the next level, but rather guiding a ball to the “IN” square.
I recommend trying the original on an arcade emulator (MAME), which is more dynamic and fun; or the NES version, as it happens to be my favourite YouTuber’s preferred game!
