The sequel to Turrican brings a wealth of improvements and a touch of variety that its predecessor was slightly lacking. You can now acquire three types of ammunition instead of two (on top of the directional cannon, mines, and screen-clearing bombs), and being able to transform into a wheel at will makes controlling the character far more enjoyable.
On top of that, enemies are more diverse, and the environment feels less static: powerful gusts of wind and rushing torrents that actively affect the character’s movement, shifting platforms, and playful little touches, like a nod to Katakis (or Gradius 2)…
Make no mistake, exploring massive levels remains a core feature. Multiple paths are available, along with secret rooms galore.
… Leaving us dizzy with delight!
