Zool, the ninja from the Nth dimension, was once considered the rival to Sonic on the Amiga. The game, sponsored by the famous lollipop brand Chupa Chups, was so successful that it was ported to many other platforms, such as the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo consoles.

Strangely, I’d never heard of it before, and, honestly, I have a hard time imagining it overshadowing Sega’s mascot.

Zool is colourful and dynamic, to be sure, but the levels lack inspiration. The enemies and bonuses seem scattered here and there to fill the void, in rather flat courses.
