Rediscover the characters from the series in a delightful racing game! Not that I have anything against racing games—provided they’re marketed as such and we’re graciously allowed to steer…
Don’t expect refined driving mechanics here. Corners are always taken at full throttle, but the track is spiced up with all sorts of hazards: cones, mines, holes, ice blocks, and even robots wandering aimlessly onto the course…
Naturally, you’re equipped with an arsenal of weapons and gadgets to leave your competitors eating dust. Each character has their own track and a vehicle with unique attributes.
After defeating a robot master in a race, you’ll snag one of its parts (engine, body, or tyres). This means that before each race, you can tweak your ride—install Guts Man’s engine for rough terrain, Ice Man’s non-slip tyres for icy tracks, or Proto Man’s body for better aerodynamics and speed…
Win the same track three times, and you’ll bag a complete vehicle set. On your fourth victory, you’ll earn your opponent’s weapon!
At the end of the “Grand Prix” mode, you’ll face Wily and, depending on the character you chose, watch one of ten short ending sequences.
Of course, there’s a two-player mode, featuring playable characters like Mega Man, Roll, Proto Man, Bass, Guts Man, Quick Man, Ice Man, Shadow Man, Napalm Man, Spring Man (with Wily and Duo unlocking under specific conditions). Shame they forgot Turbo Man!
