This 3D vector tank game makes use of the Virus engine, which displays a terrain in relief but at the cost of a very limited field of view. The setting is during World War II, with American, Russian, and German tanks shooting at each other across the open countryside. There are three game modes, ranging from intense and immediate solo destruction to commanding a division of five tanks, and finally, the “tactical” approach, where you place your units on a map and hold the position.

The main difficulty lies in independently controlling the tank and its turret, allowing the commands to be shared between two players (options include two joysticks, mouse, or keyboard). In fact, the commands can also be shared with the computer. While I have no doubt that the initial frustrations would fade with practice (complex and off-putting handling, slowness, imprecise aiming, limited visibility, frequent getting stuck in the scenery…), personally, I haven’t gotten used to it. I think they would have been better off presenting the game in 2D, top-down view. Also, the background noise is enough to drive me mad.
