Reputed as one of the worst fighting games of all time, I naturally had to give it a try! But before handing out the crown, I still need to check out Rise of the Robots and Shaq Fu… Call it dedication!

Eight fighters take part in this … thing (probably not of their own free will). What’s more, the computer doesn’t let us choose our opponent. It’s more or less random, though I say “more or less” because I’ve never been able to make the two women face off (except in two-player mode). The animation is atrocious, and the controls extremely approximate. Most of the time, all you need to do is press the same button without moving to win. An unfortunate spectator would more likely think the characters are dancing rather than fighting (when one of them doesn’t outright exit the screen, presumably out of embarrassment).

It’s worth noting that this game was chosen to promote the CD32 console. Astonishing that it didn’t meet with success…
