You take turns playing as four Kellogg’s ambassadors (only two at the start), each with complementary skills: Tony the Tiger runs fast, Dig’em the Frog (from Smacks) can swim, Sam the Toucan can fly, and Coco the Monkey makes the blue-jeaned bears from the corn puff packets disappear…

Though technically unambitious, the game offers the bare minimum expected from a platformer: critters that come and go, spiky pits, doors, keys, and even three quasi-bosses. Of course, there are secret passages hidden all over the place. So, enjoy collecting all the sugar bags and palm oil cans to score more points and delight the kids!

True connoisseurs will notice that the bonuses take the form of cereals specific to the mascot in question, and if you put the controller down for a moment, the mascot will pull out a packet with its face on it and start munching… as part of a complete and balanced breakfast. Amen.

It’s hard to ignore that the scenery and music get repetitive quickly, and the enemies are hardly diverse. The lack of a save function or password system must’ve made the game rather tedious back in the day, though that’s no longer an issue on emulators. Still, the game remains quite playable and fast-paced, which is all that matters to me.

And bam! That’s some Chocapic. Oh, sorry!
