I have no idea what it was doing when I took the third photo…
You control a KLIPT, an “extremely sophisticated” robot, the last hope of a declining human race. If I understood correctly, you’re there to test the machine before they start implanting the brains of your fellow humans into it, to counter a slow genetic degeneration.
Your mission: survive and collect pieces of amulets to move on to the next stage of the test. To do this, you need to destroy the few creatures hanging around the area. Unfortunately, you have no weapons. The solution? Spin in the air to trigger a gust of wind and knock down platforms, hoping they’ll land on the enemies…
The bizarre concept is fine. Wandering around for hours without understanding what to do is okay if you’re having a little fun. But this? No. The levels are empty, the controls clumsy, and the boss fights are mind-numbingly dull. I wonder if the Amiga programmers ever actually played video games? Human, ditch your KLIPT, I know a little blue robot on the Nintendo console…
Note that this was the first game developed by the French studio Delphine. It’s briefly mentioned in Future Wars.
Some of the sound effects can be heard in Metal Mutant and Battle Squadron.
