Not to be confused with its two arcade homonyms: the first, Qwak!, released in 1974 (according to Wikipedia), is the duck-shooting game that would inspire Duck Hunt (NES, 1984); the second, from 1982, is a push-push game (similar to Loco-Motion and Diablo) in which you guide a family of ducks down a river…

The version we’re talking about here is a remake of Qwak! (BBC Micro, 1989), a game similar to Bubble Bobble, simple but with polished execution. The goal is to collect all the golden keys to open the door leading to the next level. There are also colourful bonuses to pick up, fruits, potions, and armour (which looks fantastic on a duck).
A cute, easy-to-handle game.

Funny enough, I didn’t realise the projectiles were limited in number until level 15… By the way, you get a bonus if you finish a level without firing a single shot!

In the same style (and up to four players), I invite you to try TowerFall Ascension (2016).
